In the Counterplane Manifesto, Olga Olivera-Tabeni reflects on how current agricultural exploitations are transforming the traditional landscape, in favor of a uniform flattening of the cultivated fields. The author uncovers a terrain that has been transformed and where stone boundaries, grazing areas, and centuries-old olive trees that once shaped it have been erased. In an attempt to reconstruct the layer of this lost landscape, the artist employs various technological tools, such as Google images captured before the terrain transformation, GPS geolocation, and a multiespectral image archaeology software, commonly used in cave art.

Despite these efforts, the final outcome reveals that recovering what we have made disappear is impossible. The only elements that resemble the original landscape, in some cases, are the earthy or green tones, generated by the same archaeological image program.
